RAISE-ing up Bikeshare with Federal Funds
With the release and rebranding of the RAISE notice of funding opportunity this year (formerly BUILD and TIGER), the new administration of the US DOT signaled its commitment to putting people first. This discretionary program is one of the few that cities and MPOs can compete directly for, to fund multimodal transportation projects such as bike lanes and trails. Nelson\Nygaard is pleased to present a conversation with Robert Mariner, Feder Grant Project Manager, TranSystems (former USDOT); Kate Eliot, Senior Program Manager, NACTO; Marco Conner, Deputy Director, Transportation Alternatives; and Jennifer McGrath, University of Utah (former Utah Transit Authority). These experts will discuss bikeshare’s past successes and future possibilities as a key transportation option for equitable, safe, and clean transit systems. This conversation will help you decide how to meet the high quality job-creation, racial equity, and environmental sustainability criteria important to successful RAISE applications by including bikeshare as a key component.
